Protective Deity Mask Decoration Placed Behind the Throne of His Holiness the Dalai Lama

A carved wooden panel depicting a protective deity mask, used in Tibetan Buddhism as ritual ornamentation. Such panels are placed behind the thrones of the Dalai Lama and other high lamas to ward off evil influences.
